Ravens are common in most of Alaska. Many tales have the Raven as a main character. My favorite is how Raven tricked Gull into releasing light into the world.
On the backside of the tile image above, the date constantly changes. Pretty much everything I make sells in the same year that I make it. The main ingredient in my tile clay is the Bootlegger Cove Clay, and it is the clay formation underlying all of Anchorage at varying thicknesses and depths.
The “Silver Hand Artist” stamp on the backside means I’m registered with the state of Alaska as a native Alaskan artist.
